A fokhagymát megtisztítjuk. Az oldalast nagyobb darabokra vágjuk, befűszerezzük.
Az oldalast egy lábasba tesszük a fokhagymával és pár szem köménymaggal. Annyi vizet öntünk rá, hogy ellepje és fedő alatt el kezdjük főzni. Ha a vizet kezdi elfőni, rátesszük a zsírt.
Amint a víz teljesen elpárolog róla, szép pirosra sütjük.
Melegen körettel petrezselymes burgonya, burgonyapüré, vagy hidegen ahogy én szeretem, zöldségekkel és friss kenyérrel tálaljuk.
