Az almát meghámozzuk és lereszeljük.
1 dl langyos tejben elkeverjük a cukrot és az élesztőt. Egy tálba beletesszük a lisztet, a sót, a fahéjat. A közepébe mélyedést készítünk és beleöntjük a felfuttatott élesztőt.
A többi tejet is hozzáadjuk, majd kézi mixerrel alaposan kidolgozzuk. Bele keverjük a lecsepegtetett mazsolát, a reszelt almát, a kandírozott citromot, a reszelt narancshéjat,és a rumot.
Letakarjuk és egy órán át pihenni hagyjuk.
Egy nagyobb fazékba olajt öntünk, legalább 2-3 ujjnyi vastagon, kb. 180 fokra felmelegítjük. Két kanál segítségével a lágy masszából gombócokat teszünk az olajba, majd szép arany színűre sütjük.
Papírra szedjük, hogy a felesleges olajat leitassuk róla, majd fahéjas porcukorral megszórva tálaljuk.
